Description
Voormalige stoombrouwerij "Den Haan", in 1897 opgericht door Ivo Joos-Stoffyn als handbierbrouwerij, in 1900 uitgebreid met een mouterij, later gemechaniseerd en in 1947 stilgelegd. Sindsdien in gebruik als magazijn, evenwel na sloping van de belangrijkste bedrijfsgebouwen.
Behouden woonhuis met art-nouveaumotieven in de detailafwerking van de voorgevel. Traditionele opbouw met vier traveeën en twee bouwlagen onder zadeldak (nok parallel met de straat, Vlaamse pannen), uit begin 20ste eeuw. Baksteenbouw verlevendigd door arduinen sokkel, kordons en hoekstenen, en muurbanden van witte geglazuurde baksteen. Risalietvormende rechterpoorttravee. Korfbogige benedenvensters met arduinen sluitsteen geflankeerd door florale art-nouveaumotieven (sgraffito) in de zwikken. Rechthoekige bovenvensters onder ijzeren I-latei en steekbogig ontlast; bewaard houtwerk en sgraffitopanelen in de boogvelden. Rechthoekige deur en poort; laatstgenoemde bekroond door vergulde haan (bas-reliëf) en arduinen paneel met inscriptie "Stoombrouwerij".
